Nwakaeme returns to Trabzonspor training
Former Super Eagles player, Anthony Nwakaeme has returned to training after recovering from injury he sustained early this month.
The 35 year old has not played for Trabzonspor since he featured for 89 minutes in his club’s 3-2 loss to Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and has missed the last two Super Lig games for his club.
The Nigerian could be available for the Super Lig game against Alanyaspor on Saturday after participating in Tuesday’s training under the supervision of coach Şenol Güneş.
Nwakaeme and the rest of the players practiced passing after the warm-up in the training held at Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities. The workout continued with the game in the tight area and ended with sprinting and endurance work.
The former Super Eagles star who is yet to score in 10 games across all competitions this season is expected to continue preparations for the game with his club on Wednesday.
He has scored 47 times and provided 41 assists in 155 appearances since he first joined the club in August 2018 from Israeli side, Hapoel Beer Sheva. He left Trabzonspor in August 2022 for Saudi Pro League side, Al-Fayha FC.
Nwakaeme returned to Trabzonspor in July 2024 and signed a two year deal that will run until June 2026.
