Favour Ashe dumps Auburn University for Oregon!
Nigeria’s Favour Ashe has changed school again. The 22-year-old has transferred from the Auburn University to University of Oregon and will compete for the GoDucks in the 2025 NCAA season, indoors and out.
Ashe started his NCAA adventure, as it were, with the University of Tennessee where he ran his 60m lifetime best of 6.51 and won a bronze medal at the 2022 NCAA indoor championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
Outdoor, he ran 10.08 to win the NCAA oudoor championships silver medal at the Hayward Field in Oregon.
That same year, Ashe ran inside 10 seconds for the first time in his career with the 9.99 he ran to win his first Nigerian Championships title.
The Nigerian transferred to Auburn University the following year to join former World 100m record holder, Leroy Burrell.
At Auburn University, Ashe did not speed near the NCAA podium, indoors and out albeit he made the finals of both the 60m and 100m. He did not start in the final of the 60m and placed eighth in the 100m final at the outdoor championships held in Austin, Texas.
The University of Oregon will be banking on the Nigerian’s impressive record in the NCAA circuit to get some medals in the ongoing 2025 season.
