Fulham Vs Watford: Iwobi gunning for first FA Cup goal since 2019!

Alex Iwobi has been in imperious form so far this season and the 28 year old will be hoping to take that form to Fulham’s third round FA Cup game against visiting Watford at Craven Cottage on Thursday as he is looking to score his first goal in the competition in about five years.

The Nigerian has scored five goals and provided three assists in 20 Premier League games this season but did not have any goal involvement in the two EFL (Carabao) Cup games he has featured in this season.

Against Watford, a team he has faced 11 times across all competitions so far, including once in the FA Cup, Iwobi has scored twice, both in nine Premier League appearances.

The former Arsenal player will be hoping he gets to play against the Sky Bet Championship side so that he can continue in his goalscoring form.

The last time Iwobi scored in the FA Cup was in January 2019 when he netted the Gunners’ third goal in their 3-0 defeat of their host, Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Since then, the Nigerian has gone seven games without either scoring or assisting in the competition. His four assists in the competition came in his first nine games, before scoring on his 10th attempt.

His records reads: 17 games, one goal and four assists.
