Ilechukwu: We are going for all three points Vs Ikorodu City

Rangers’ International FC are determined to return to winning ways when they face newcomers Ikorodu City FC at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Monday in a rearranged NPFL 2024/2025 matchday 22 clash.

Despite Ikorodu City’s impressive form, scoring seven goals in their last two outings, Rangers’ technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, exudes confidence.

The experienced coach, who has led three Nigerian clubs in continental competitions, believes his team has overcome a challenging period.

“We’ve navigated the most difficult part of our season and are now focused on regaining our winning momentum,” Ilechukwu stated.

“Our last two results weren’t what we aimed for, but we’ve put them behind us and are looking ahead with optimism. Ikorodu City may be new to the NPFL, but they’re a quality side. We respect them, but we need a positive result and we’re ready to fight for it,” said coach Ilechukwu.

Both teams are currently tied on 31 points, occupying 5th and 6th positions on the league table, with Ikorodu City holding a slight edge in goal difference. This crucial encounter promises an exciting battle as Rangers aim to delight their home fans.

The two sides met earlier in the season on September 25th, 2024, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos. A 25th-minute goal from Chinemerem Ugwueze secured Rangers’ first away win of the campaign.
