Ndidi set to return from injury, keen to maintain 100% record Vs Man United in FA Cup
Wilfred Ndidi has been declared fit to return to action after missing nearly two months of football due to the hamstring injury he copped towards the middle of December 2024 when he limped out of the 2-2 draw with Brighton in a Premier League game.
The Nigerian has missed nine Premier League games and the Foxes’ 6-2 defeat of QPR at the King Power stadium in a FA Cup third round tie in January.
‘Wilfred is fine. He had a great week of training last week and this week. He will be part of the squad on Friday,’ said Leicester City manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy at his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
Ndidi will be making his 290th appearance for the Foxes across all competitions since he joined from Belgian Jupiler Pro League side, KRC Genk in January 2017 with 17 of the games played in the FA Cup.
The 28-year-old was in the Leicester City squad that defeated Manchester United 3-1 at the quarterfinal stage of this competition four years ago (2021) where his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho scored two of the goals and made the other.
The Super Eagles will be keen for a repeat performance on Friday as he hopes to extend his 100 percent record against the Red Devils in the competition.
