Elegbeleye: 2024/25 NPFL season will end in May

Chairman of the Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye has assured that the 2024/25 season will end in May in line with what obtains in Europe in terms of the calendar for the league.

The NPFL supremo is delighted with the success of aligning the league with the European calendar.

Elegbeleye told Eagle7 Radio that the 2024/2025 NPFL season will end on a positive note in May 2025.

‘We are on the verge of finishing the league; we began in August and will finish in May. Now, we have achieved that calendar, which is in line with global best practices. We are happy, and definitely, we will continue on this success.

‘We have zero tolerance for sharp practice, and as you can see this season, it will continue to progress in this way, making the NPFL the best in Africa,’ Elegbeleye told Eagles7 Radio.

With just six games remaining, Remo Stars currently occupy the top position on the league table with 60 points from 32 matches, five more than Rivers United who have played a game more.
