Amusan to battle for Diamond League bonus prize money in Paris if..

After she and Ese Brume were ‘denied’ the chance to compete for the 2025 Diamond League bonus prize money for the first four of the 15 meetings following the exclusion of their events from those that will offer the bonus prize money, Tobi Amusan will have her chance in the second batch with Brume made to wait.

After the opening four Diamond League meetings in Xiamen, Shanghai/Keqiao, Doha and Rabat announced the disciplines which will receive increased prize money at their events in 2025 early last month, the next four have followed suit.

The Diamond League meetings in Rome, Oslo, Stockholm and Paris have also released the events that will offer the special bonus.

According to the new prize money structure introduced for the 2025 season, each series meeting can nominate four ‘Diamond+ Disciplines’ (two male and two female).

These disciplines will offer higher levels of prize money, with the maximum for individual athletes rising from USD 10,000 to USD 20,000.

According to the organisers, the Diamond+ Disciplines in Rome, Oslo, Stockholm and Paris will be as follows:

Rome 5000m women, 1500m women, 100m men, high jump men
Oslo 100m women, 400m women, pole vault men, 5000m men
Stockholm 100m women, 3000m women, 400m hurdles men, pole vault men
Paris 100m hurdles women, pole vault women, 110m hurdles men, 400m hurdles men

The 100m hurdles in Paris is one of the events chosen and Amusan could return to the meeting where she rewrote the African record she set barely a year earlier and served notice of an incredible, World record-setting and gold medal winning performance at the World Championships in Oregon, USA later that year.

Brume, who is still recuperating from a car accident early this year, will have to wait until the third batch is released to get the opportunity to fight for the bonus proze money.
