Rhasidat Adeleke to open 2025 Diamond League campaign in Shanghai

Paris 2024 Olympics 400m finalist, Rhasidat Adeleke will begin her 2025 Diamond League campaign in Shanghai, China with a race over the 200m event.
The 22-year-old has been listed in the provisional list of nine women for the half lap event.
She holds a personal best of 22.34 and she is one of six women in the line up yet to run a sub-22 seconds in the event.
Adeleke, the Irish-born 400m runner is yet to race in the individual 400m event so far this season albeit she has ran in one 4x400m relay race last month and over 600m in February.
Fourth at the World Championships in Budapest in 2023 and at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Adeleke will be looking to finally make it to the podium in the 400m.
She holds a personal season’s best of 22.57 and remains the fastest in the line up this season ahead of the USA trio of Anavia Battle (21.95PB), Tamara Clark (21.92PB) and Jenna Prandini (21.89PB).
Adeleke will also battle an African opposition in the form of Cote d’Ivoire’s Jessika Gbai who will be running in the opening leg of the 2025 edition of the Diamond League next week.
