Tima Godbless, Ramot Jimoh through to SEC 200m, 800m finals

Tima Godbless, whose reign as National Sports Festival double sprint champion is about to end, zoomed into the 200m final at the Southeastern Conference, SEC, on Thursday.

The 20 year old ran 22.62 to win her heat and punch her ticket to Saturday’s final as she bids to qualify for the NCAA final next month at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

The Nigerian ran the fourth fastest time of the day at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.

Also through to the final of the event is another Nigerian, Precious Nzeakor who ran a wind-aided 22.85 to finish eighth in the final classification.

In the women’s 800m, Ramot Abike Jimoh ran inside 2:05 for the third time in her career to book her place in the final of the two full laps race.

The 21 year old ran 2:04.80 to place fifth in the final classification to punch her ticket to the final.
