RACHISOLS FOUNDATION empowers grassroot coaches

Buoyed by an unbridled passion to groom future champions and world beaters in sports from the grassroots, RACHISOLS FOUNDATION (Sports Appendage) launched an epoch-making technical training program for thirteen selected Nigerian grassroot coaches at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, on Saturday.
Tagged Project Domino, the highly versatile and comprehensive training sessions for the home-based grassroots tacticians were aimed at training and equipping the coaches with professional skills to nurture future talents, develop well rounded athletes through expert-led mental, physical and emotional education and providing quality training gear and customized coaching kits to the participating local coaches to enhance their development.
According to the RACHISOLS FOUNDATION sport Appendage lead, Mr. Olajide Solomi :”Project Domino is an initiative that is targeted at grassroot coaches that should create a ripple effect of foundational, sustainable and impactful changes in the football community by bridging the gap between grassroots training and professional excellence, while fostering a mindset of holistic development for aspiring football players that extends far beyond sport.”
Two of the selected coaches who benefited from the indoor lectures and outdoor training session at the Legacy Pitch of the National Institute for Sports, expressed their gratitude to RACHISOLS FOUNDATION for organizing the coaching program.
“Thanks to RACHISOLS for the opportunity to be part of the coaches training. I couldn’t have missed ‘Project Domino’ for anything. I learnt a lot. From choosing a career off the pitch to how I can motivate and support my players to grow and achieve their career ambitions,” an elated female grassroot coach, Chinasa Mandy Ukandu said.
Coach Shafau Hakeem Olusegun, who was another beneficiary of the coaching training, said: “It’s thumbs up for RACHISOLS FOUNDATION for this opportunity. I really learnt a lot from this class session and the practicals on the field.”
The coaching program which stakeholders described as timely and impactful for grassroot development, coincides with the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival holding in Ogun State.
