Enekwechi faces familiar foes at Hanzekovic Memorial meeting in Zagreb

Multiple African Championships and African Games medalist, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will be facing familiar foes when he files out this weekend for the Shot Put event at the Hanzekovic Memorial in Zagreb, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event.
The Nigerian, finalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics and the Diamond League final in Brussels, Belgium will be facing six athletes who have hit and crossed the 22m mark, 2017 World champion and two-time Olympic bronze medalist, Tom Walsh of New Zealand.
Others are Payton Otterdahl of the USA who was second last year in Zagreb and fourth at the Olympics, Leonardo Fabbri of Italy who was fifth in Paris and home boy, Tomáš Staněk who finished eighth last year at the event and 10th at the Olympics.
The Nigerian was sixth last year in the event with his 21.27m fourth round throw and sixth also at the Paris Olympics.
Enekwechi, 32, holds a personal season’s best of 21.25m achieved at the World indoors in Nanjing, China in March but threw 20.37m to finish seventh in his last event prior to his trip to Zagreb.
