Usain Bolt Named a Guinness World Records ICON
As Guinness World Records approaches a landmark event—its 70th anniversary on 27 August 2025—the organization has officially recognized Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest man, as a Guinness World Records ICON.
Bolt now joins an elite group of record-breaking individuals whose achievements have transcended their respective fields and inspired people worldwide.
Renowned for his electrifying speed and magnetic charisma, Bolt didn’t just set records—he redefined human capability. His most iconic achievements, which remain unbeaten, include:
Fastest 100m sprint (9.58 seconds)
Fastest 200m sprint (19.19 seconds)
Most men’s Olympic gold medals in the 100m and 200m combined (6)
Most World Championships gold medals won by an individual in track and field (11)
Beyond these legendary moments, Bolt has secured 15 Guinness World Records titles, celebrating not only his athletic dominance but also his profound connection with fans across the globe.
During a visit to the UK, Bolt was surprised by Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday, who presented him with his ICON certificate at the Edwardian hotel in Manchester. Standing before a wall displaying his Guinness World Records titles, Bolt expressed his gratitude:
