Ighalo urges Osimhen to consider Al-Hilal move

Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has voiced support for a potential move by Victor Osimhen to Saudi giants Al-Hilal, praising the younger forward as one of the top three strikers in global football today.

Speaking to News Central, Ighalo acknowledged that while Osimhen recently declined a reported €40 million offer from the club, the final decision is ultimately a personal one: “Whatever decision he makes now, it is a win for him… If he asks me, of course, I will say go.”

Ighalo, who previously starred for Al-Hilal and remains a respected figure in Saudi football, emphasized that opportunities like this will continue to come Osimhen’s way, whether now or in the future. The Nigerian veteran also defended Osimhen amid criticism over his wage demands, urging fans to respect the player’s value and mental toughness.

“In the world, if you want to mention two strikers and you don’t call his name, it is impossible,” Ighalo said, adding that Africa often underestimates its own talent.

Osimhen, fresh off a strong loan spell at Galatasaray, is still weighing his next move in a summer transfer window buzzing with speculation.
