The 22-year-old clocked a personal best of 10.87 seconds in the heats and followed it up with a wind-assisted 10.78 seconds in the final—making her the second-fastest Nigerian woman ever over 100m.

But her joy on the track contrasts sharply with the storm off it.

Ofili’s performance comes amid a growing rift with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), whose administrative lapses cost her a place in the Nigerian Olympic team to the Tokyo 2020 (2021) Olympics and a place in the 100m event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

She has since initiated a switch of allegiance to Turkey, citing years of frustration and missed opportunities.
