NFF extends tenures of NPFL, NNL, and NLO Boards to September 2026
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee has announced the extension of the tenures of the governing boards of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeria National League (NNL), and Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) until 29th September 2026.
This extension aligns with the expiration of the current NFF administration led by Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), whose tenure began on 30th September 2022.
The affected boards, initially appointed on a two-year mandate commencing 1st July 2023 and expiring on 30th June 2025, will now remain in office until the end of the current NFF board’s term. These include: the NPFL board, headed by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, the NNL board, chaired by Chief George Aluo and the NLO board, led by His Excellency Silas Ali Agara.
The NFF Executive Committee praised the performance of the three boards over the past two years and encouraged them to further elevate the professional standards of their respective leagues.
The emphasis is on improving the packaging, competitiveness, and overall appeal of the leagues to stakeholders and fans across Nigeria and the African continent.
Meanwhile, a final decision regarding the board of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), currently chaired by Ms. Nkechi Nneka Obi, has been deferred to a later date.
