Besiktas open to Osayi-Samuel deal—but only on new terms

Turkish giants Beşiktaş are reportedly open to reigniting talks with Nigerian right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel—under one strict condition: he must accept a reduced salary from the previously agreed terms.

Osayi-Samuel, whose transfer to Beşiktaş was nearly finalized earlier this summer, saw the deal collapse at the last minute due to a disagreement in contract terms. Talks were suspended, prompting the club to explore alternatives for the right-back position. Names such as Kyle Walker-Peters, recently out of contract with Southampton, and former Wolves defender Nelson Semedo have been identified as potential replacements.

However, in a twist reported by Sabah Newspaper, the 26-year-old Nigerian international has expressed renewed interest in returning to the negotiation table with Beşiktaş.

While interest from England remains—Birmingham City is said to have made an offer reported to be less than €1 million annually—Beşiktaş are standing firm: the club will not reissue the initial financial terms presented to Osayi-Samuel. The deal is only likely to proceed if the player agrees to revised terms reflecting a lower annual fee.

The development comes as Beşiktaş continues a busy transfer window, having already secured forward Tammy Abraham and left-back David Jurasek. Talks for a new right-back remain ongoing as the club prepares for the upcoming campaign.
