Turkish Giants Besiktas Eye Move for Iheanacho

With the start of the new season fast approaching, Sevilla FC may be on the verge of reshaping its attacking lineup — and Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho could be heading to Turkey.

Reports from Turkish outlets, echoed by Spanish publication El Desmarque, suggest that Besiktas are keen on signing the 28-year-old striker.

Initially considered surplus to requirements, Iheanacho has gradually earned minutes under manager Matías Almeyda during pre-season, even finding the net in a friendly against Schalke 04.

Currently, Akor Adams holds the starting striker role at Sevilla, while Iheanacho and Isaac Romero are competing for the second spot. Both players have attracted interest from abroad — Romero from Zenit and Iheanacho from Besiktas.

From a financial standpoint, Sevilla stands to gain significantly from their departures. Romero, a product of the club’s academy, could command a sizable transfer fee.

Iheanacho, who arrived as a free agent, would free up substantial wages and could be sold for around €3 million — a tidy profit for the club.
