Hull City Secure Nigerian Star Akintola on Two-Year Deal

Hull City have officially welcomed Nigerian winger David Akintola, signing the experienced wide man on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old arrives with a wealth of European experience, having played over 270 senior matches across Denmark, Norway, Cyprus, and Türkiye — including 147 appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig.
Akintola most recently featured for Çaykur Rizespor, where he tallied four goals and nine assists in 49 matches, showcasing his creativity and consistency. His journey began at Midtjylland in Denmark, followed by standout loan spells across four countries, including a prolific stint at Haugesund and Champions League qualifiers with Rosenborg.
His time in Türkiye saw him shine for Hatayspor and Adana Demirspor, helping the latter secure European football in the 2022/23 season.
Speaking on his arrival, Akintola said:
‘It’s a dream come true. Growing up in Nigeria, the Premier League was everything. Hull City is a club I’ve known for years, and I’m proud to wear this shirt. The welcome has been incredible, and I’m ready to give my all.’
