NPFL Champions Remo Stars Settle at MKO Abiola Sports Arena for New Season

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title holders Remo Stars have confirmed the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Kuto, Abeokuta as their temporary home ground for the upcoming season.
The decision comes as renovation works continue at their original base in Ikenne, prompting the Sky Blue Stars to relocate ahead of their NPFL matchday one clash against Rivers United this Friday.
‘Due to ongoing renovations at our stadium in Ikenne, the club can confirm a temporary home ground: MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Kuto, Abeokuta,’ the club announced via Facebook. ‘Come through, make some noise, and let’s turn Abeokuta into a fortress together!’
While the team is expected to return to Ikenne once upgrades are complete, questions remain over whether the Abeokuta venue will also host their CAF Champions League fixtures. Remo Stars are set to face US Zilimadjou of Comoros in the first preliminary round of the continental competition.
Under the guidance of Daniel Ogunmodede, the club clinched their maiden NPFL title last season and will be looking to build on that momentum both domestically and internationally.
