‘Atalanta said no’: Buruk confirms Galatasaray’s failed move for Lookman

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has revealed that the club made a serious attempt to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman during the summer transfer window, but the move was blocked by Atalanta.
Speaking in an interview with Now Spor, Buruk confirmed that Lookman was a top target for the Istanbul giants.
‘We were interested in Lookman. We thought we could set up an operation similar to that of Osimhen last year. But Atalanta was clear, they would never agree to loan him out,’ Buruk said.
Despite speculation and reported tensions surrounding Lookman, Atalanta stood firm. The club considered the winger too vital to their tactical setup under coach Ivan Juric and refused to entertain any loan negotiations.
