Calvin Bassey joins Iwobi as Nigeria and Fulham’s joint third Most Valuable Player
Calvin Bassey has seen his market value rise significantly, joining Alex Iwobi as Nigeria and Fulham’s joint third most valuable player, according to the latest Premier League transfer market update by Transfermarkt.
Bassey’s valuation jumped from €25 million at the end of May 2025 to €28 million, reflecting his growing influence and consistency at Fulham and with the Nigerian national team.
The defender is on record as the only Eagle that played every minute of Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup qualifying games.
This increase places Bassey behind only Victor Osimhen, who remains Nigeria’s most valuable player at €75 million, and Ademola Lookman, valued at €40 million. Bassey’s new valuation also makes him joint third most valuable at Fulham and ranks him 164th in the Premier League and 335th globally.
Iwobi, who retains his €28 million valuation, continues to be a key figure for both club and country, maintaining his position among Nigeria’s elite footballers.
Meanwhile, new Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has seen a sharp rise in his market value, climbing from €18 million in June to €25 million. This surge places him 178th in the Premier League and fifth among Nigerian players.
Other notable Nigerian valuations include Samuel Chukwueze at €10 million, Frank Onyeka at €7 million, and Chrisantus Uche at €15 million.
