Amorim makes Premier League history as Man United beat Liverpool at Anfield

Manchester United continued their resurgence under manager Ruben Amorim with a historic 2–1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, marking a landmark moment in both club and Premier League history.

The win not only secured back-to-back Premier League victories for Amorim, his first since taking charge, but also placed him in elite managerial company.

Amorim becomes just the third manager in Premier League history to win both of his first two away matches against reigning champions, joining the ranks of Manuel Pellegrini and Antonio Conte.

Manchester United’s triumph at Anfield is their first Premier League win at the iconic venue since 2016, when Louis van Gaal led the Red Devils to victory.

The result also marks a rare feat: United have now defeated the defending champions away from home in consecutive seasons, a milestone last achieved 117 years ago.

The match further extended United’s remarkable record at Anfield, when leading at half-time, they have never lost a Premier League fixture against Liverpool on their turf.
