Dunamis Icon applauds Udo-Obong, Africa’s top Technical Official for 2025

Dunamis Icon has extended heartfelt congratulations to Enefiok Udo-Obong, who was recently named the Confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) Technical Official of the Year for 2025.

Udo-Obong, a celebrated member of Nigeria’s gold-winning 4x400m relay team at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, earned the prestigious accolade for his exceptional leadership in managing the technical operations of the Africa U-18 and U-20 Combined Championships held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Sir Itiako Ikpokpo, Chairman of Dunamis Icon and head of the Delta State Athletics Association, praised the recognition as ‘well-deserved,’ urging Udo-Obong to see the award as motivation to reach even greater heights on the global stage.

Dunamis Icon, franchise owners of the Niger Delta Games, hosted the inaugural edition of the regional sports festival in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from April 1–8. Udo-Obong played a pivotal role as Technical Director, earning high marks for his meticulous planning and execution.

‘Having worked closely with Enee during the first Niger Delta Sports Festival, his emergence as Africa’s best technical official is no surprise,’ Ikpokpo remarked. ‘His professionalism and attention to detail were evident throughout the event. Our technical ratings soared thanks to his energy and commitment.’

The CAA cited Udo-Obong’s outstanding technical acumen and organizational prowess as key to the success of the continental youth championships.

Further cementing his international reputation, Udo-Obong also served as Technical Director for the Asian U-18 and U-20 Athletics Championships in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, where he currently consults for the Kingdom’s Athletics Federation.
