Lookman set for 100th Serie A appearance

Ademola Lookman is on the brink of a personal milestone as Atalanta prepare to host Sassuolo in Sunday’s lunchtime Serie A clash at the New Balance Arena.
If selected, the Nigerian forward will mark his 100th appearance in Italy’s top flight.
Atalanta coach Ivan Juric confirmed Lookman’s availability following a recent incident in Marseille, noting the player has trained well and remains fully integrated in the squad.
‘These things happen. Sometimes direct confrontation brings people closer. Lookman is a particular guy, but he has a big heart,’ Juric said.
Juric emphasized the need for Atalanta to carry the intensity and hunger from their Champions League triumph over Marseille into domestic competition.
‘We’ve closed a challenging cycle, but Atalanta is alive,’ he declared. ‘Now I want continuity: no more ups and downs, only victories and a great team mentality.’
Lookman, who has featured six times in Serie A this season and nine times across all competitions, will be chasing his second league goal of the campaign. He also boasts a perfect winning record against Sassuolo, having scored once in three previous meetings.
