Rangers edge Remo Stars in Abeokuta, climb to fifth on NPFL table

Rangers International of Enugu climbed to fifth place on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over reigning champions Remo Stars in a Matchweek 12 encounter held at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Kuto, Abeokuta.
The Flying Antelopes earned their first away win of the season thanks to a 23rd-minute strike from Godwin Obaje, who proved to be the match-winner in a tightly contested affair.
The result marked Rangers’ fifth win in 12 matches, bringing their total points to 19 and boosting their campaign as they continue to push for a top finish.

For Remo Stars, the defeat was a significant blow. It was their first home loss of the season and left them languishing in 16th place with just 10 points from 12 games.
The Kunle Soname-owned side has now suffered six defeats in the current campaign, five of which have come in just six away fixtures, underlining their struggles on the road.
