Iwobi celebrated by Troost-Ekong after landmark Nigeria appearance
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has paid glowing tribute to Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi, hailing him as a “leader and example” following his 90th appearance for Nigeria’s senior national team.
The milestone came during Nigeria’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Gabon in a 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff match held in Rabat, Morocco, on Thursday night.
Iwobi, who made his international debut in 2015, has now completed a decade of service to the Super Eagles, becoming one of the most capped players in the team’s history.
