Galatasaray push for Lookman with €9m salary offer

Galatasaray have launched an audacious bid to lure Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, with reports suggesting the Turkish giants are ready to offer him a staggering €9 million net salary per season.

Such a figure would place Lookman among the highest earners in the Süper Lig.

The Istanbul club’s strategy is clear: secure the player’s agreement first, then move to negotiate with Atalanta.

According to reports, Galatasaray are applying ‘total pressure’ to make the deal happen, with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen playing a key role in convincing his compatriot.

Osimhen has reportedly spoken to Lookman about Galatasaray’s ambitions and long-term project, adding a personal dimension to the negotiations.

Lookman himself appears open to the move. Journalist Veli Yiğit reported that the forward expressed his desire to wear the Galatasaray shirt, saying it ‘fits perfectly with their football.’

His stance has fueled excitement among Galatasaray supporters, who see him as a marquee addition capable of elevating the team’s domestic and European ambitions.

Atalanta, however, remain firm. The Serie A club consider Lookman one of their most decisive players and have made it clear they will not sanction a transfer unless the financial offer is deemed adequate.

No discounts are expected, setting up a potential standoff between Galatasaray’s aggressive pursuit and Atalanta’s resistance.
