Rivers United seek redemption against RS Berkane in CAF Champions League clash

Rivers United will be aiming to revive their CAF Champions League campaign when they welcome Morocco’s Renaissance Sportive de Berkane to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, November 28.
The Nigerian side, nicknamed the ‘Pride of Nigeria,’ suffered a 3-0 defeat in their opening group-stage fixture against Pyramids FC in Cairo, despite showing resilience for much of the contest.
Their opponents, RS Berkane, arrive in Uyo with confidence after dispatching Zambia’s Power Dynamos 3-0 in their first group outing.
The Moroccan club, three-time winners of the CAF Confederation Cup, will be looking to build on that momentum as they chase progression in Group A.
CAF has confirmed the officiating team for the encounter, with Issa Sy appointed as referee. He will be assisted by Djibril Camara and Nouha Bangoura, while El Hadji Amadou Sy serves as fourth official. Match commissioner Bakary K. Jammeh of Gambia will oversee proceedings.
Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM Nigeria time, with Rivers United fans and stakeholders hopeful of a spirited performance to turn the tide in the group stage and keep their qualification hopes alive.
