Chelle Lists Iheanacho, Boniface, Awoniyi, Onuachu, 51 Others in Provisional Squad for AFCON 2025
Head Coach Eric Chelle has unveiled Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco, naming Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Boniface, Taiwo Awoniyi, Paul Onuachu and 51 other players in a 55-man list.
The announcement also features captain William Ekong, star striker Victor Osimhen, midfield anchor Wilfred Ndidi, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, alongside a mix of Europe-based talents and Nigeria Premier Football League stars.
From this provisional roster, a final squad of 28 players will be selected in the coming days to represent the Super Eagles at the continental showpiece.
Nigeria, drawn in Group C with Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda, will begin preparations at a training camp in Egypt on December 10, where they are scheduled to play friendly matches before the tournament kicks off on December 21.
