Chukwu-Magic!: Chukwueze Opens EPL Account with Brace, Iwobi Strikes Against City at Last

Samuel Chukwueze lit up Craven Cottage with a stunning performance, scoring his first Premier League goals in a dramatic encounter against Manchester City.

The Nigerian winger, who had impressed in Fulham’s 2-1 win over Tottenham at the weekend, came off the bench at the start of the second half with his side trailing 3-1.

City quickly extended their lead to 5-1, leaving Fulham staring at another heavy defeat, but Chukwueze and compatriot Alex Iwobi sparked a near-comeback.

Iwobi, making his 16th appearance against City, finally broke his personal drought by scoring his first-ever goal against the former champions, reducing the deficit.

Chukwueze then struck from the edge of the box for his maiden Premier League goal, which was confirmed after a lengthy VAR review.

Minutes later, he added a second to make it 5-4 with 12 minutes left, sending the home crowd into raptures.

Despite Fulham’s spirited fightback, City held on to secure their 17th consecutive league victory over the Cottagers, extending a record-breaking run.

For Iwobi, the goal was bittersweet as it came in his 16th straight defeat against Pep Guardiola’s side, while Chukwueze’s brace marked a breakthrough moment in his Fulham career since joining on loan from AC Milan last summer.
