Fulham 1-2 Crystal Palace: Chrisantus Uche reaches 44 EPL minutes in five substitute appearances

Chrisantus Uche’s Premier League minutes ticked up to 44 on Sunday after the Nigerian midfielder made his fifth substitute appearance for Crystal Palace in their 2-1 win at Fulham.

The on-loan Getafe player has found opportunities hard to come by under Oliver Glasner, with his cameo at Craven Cottage adding to a frustrating run of limited game time.

Prior to the match, Uche had voiced his unhappiness at being restricted to just 20 minutes across four league outings.

His frustration spilled onto social media last week, where he wrote: ‘It hurts when you go through something that kills you inside, but you have to act like it doesn’t bother you at all. Keep believing and have faith in everything you do.’

Uche has made only 17 passes, had just five touches in the opposition box, won just three duels.

The midfielder’s situation has sparked speculation about his future. Getafe president Ángel Torres recently confirmed the Spanish club would be willing to take Uche back in January, raising the possibility of an early end to his loan spell in England.
