Victor Boniface’s Market Value Crashes from €45m to €12m in One Year

Victor Boniface’s dramatic dip in form has triggered a sharp decline in his market value, falling from €45 million to just €12 million in a little over a year.

Once the most valuable Nigerian player in the Bundesliga, the Bayer Leverkusen forward now ranks second behind Nathan Tella, who has surged to the top amid Boniface’s struggles.

Last season, Boniface impressed with eight goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances despite recurring hamstring issues.

However, the current campaign has been a stark contrast. Now on loan at Werder Bremen, he has managed only two assists in 11 games and has started just twice, a slump that has cost him a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off this Sunday in Morocco.

Nathan Tella, meanwhile, has capitalized on Boniface’s downturn. The right winger, at Bayer Leverkusen, now holds a market value of €15 million, making him the most valuable Nigerian in Germany’s top flight.

Other Nigerian players in the Bundesliga include Felix Agu of Werder Bremen (€8 million), Jordan Torunarigha of Hertha BSC (€4 million), and Kevin Akpoguma of TSG Hoffenheim (€2 million).

Agu and Torunarigha have maintained their valuations, while Akpoguma has seen a slight drop of €500,000.
