Sadiq Umar: ‘At Valencia CF I Feel at Home’

Valencia CF’s new signing, Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar, was officially presented on Friday, January 9, 2026, and expressed his delight at joining the La Liga side.

‘I’m very happy to be back here. It’s a pleasure to represent Valencia CF. I feel at home and loved, and that motivated me even more to come. From day one I fell in love with the Club and its fans,’ Sadiq told the club’s official website during his unveiling.

The forward revealed that his move was the result of determination from both sides.

‘The Club always insisted on bringing me here. During the summer I was close to returning, although an agreement wasn’t reached. The important thing is that I’m here now, thanks to everyone’s effort.’

Sadiq also spoke about his relationship with his teammates, noting that he had kept in touch and followed the team’s matches closely.

He praised coach Carlos Corberán, saying: ‘The best coach for players is the one who gives you opportunities, and he gave me them last season. Corberán can give me that push to bring out the best in me.’

On his readiness, the striker assured fans he is in good shape: ‘I’m doing well, both mentally and physically. Today I’ve already told them that I’m ready to start working right away.’

He highlighted his bond with fellow player Ramazani, describing him as ‘a good teammate who can help the team.’

Looking ahead, Sadiq set his personal target: ‘The most important thing is to help the team on a daily basis and return Valencia CF to where it belongs.’
