Onuachu returns to resume top scorer battle in Süper Lig, Osimhen still in the race

The battle for the Golden Boot in the 2025/26 Trendyol Süper Lig is intensifying, with Eldor Shomurodov of İstanbul Başakşehir currently leading the charts on 13 goals.

The Uzbek striker had 11 goals before the winter break and has continued his fine form to stay ahead of the chasing pack.

Trabzonspor’s Paul Onuachu, who left for AFCON duty with Nigeria, returns to resume his challenge. He had 11 goals before departing and remains level with Fenerbahçe’s Anderson Talisca, both just two behind Shomurodov.

Onuachu’s comeback is expected to reignite Trabzonspor’s push in the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen, last season’s top scorer with 26 goals in 30 matches, who sealed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray after initially joining on loan from Napoli is also in the race.

His arrival last year transformed the Süper Lig, and although he has yet to hit the same prolific heights this season, his presence remains a major boost for Galatasaray’s title ambitions.

Other contenders include Felipe Augusto (Trabzonspor) and Mauro Icardi (Galatasaray) on 9 goals, while Ernest Muçi (Trabzonspor), Marco Asensio (Fenerbahçe), and Umut Nayir (Konyaspor) each have 8.

With Shomurodov maintaining his lead, Onuachu back from AFCON, and Osimhen also back from AFCON duty, the race for the Süper Lig Golden Boot promises to be one of the most compelling storylines of the 2025/26 campaign.
