NBBF President Musa Kida Congratulates Oyedeji on WOA Secretary-General Election
The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, has extended warm congratulations to Olumide Oyedeji following his election as Secretary-General of the World Olympians Association (WOA).
Oyedeji, a former captain of Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, and current member of the NBBF Board, was elected during a ballot held on Sunday.
His victory marks another milestone in a distinguished career that has seen him champion the welfare of athletes both in Nigeria and internationally.
In a letter dated January 20, 2026, and signed by Musa Kida, the NBBF hailed Oyedeji’s achievement as well-deserved.
‘Your election is a well-deserved one, considering your unwavering commitment to the welfare of Olympians, especially in Nigeria,’ the letter read.
The federation emphasized that his dedication, passion, and hard work had earned him the trust to serve in such a prestigious global role.
Kida further expressed confidence that Oyedeji’s leadership would inspire young athletes to pursue excellence in their chosen sports while making a significant impact within the WOA.
‘We are quite excited to see one of our own lead and contribute his quota to the World Olympians Association,’ the statement added.
The NBBF concluded by wishing Oyedeji a successful tenure as Secretary-General, underscoring the pride of the Nigerian basketball community in his accomplishment.
