Osimhen Makes Galatasaray History, Becomes Fastest Player to Score 50 Goals

Victor Osimhen’s legendary status at Galatasaray has been further cemented after the Nigerian striker scored his 50th goal for the club.
Idolised by Gala supporters, Osimhen’s heroics have made him one of the most celebrated foreign players in the Süper Lig.
His permanent return to Istanbul last summer sparked wild celebrations, with tens of thousands of fans flooding the streets to welcome him back after a title-winning loan spell from Napoli.
Osimhen’s scoring record has been nothing short of remarkable. He netted 37 goals in 41 appearances during his debut season, firing Galatasaray to the league crown.
This campaign, he has already added 13 goals in 18 matches, bringing his tally to 50. The milestone was reached in the 3-1 victory over Fatih Karagümrük, where he struck Gala’s third after Gabriel Sara’s brace had put them in control.
It took Osimhen just 59 games to reach the half-century mark, making him the fastest Galatasaray player this century to achieve the feat.
His record eclipses that of Mauro Icardi, the current club captain, who required 69 matches to hit 50 goals after joining in 2022. Bafétimbi Gomis ranks third, reaching the milestone in 74 games following his move from Swansea in 2017.
The rest of the top scorers’ list is dominated by homegrown talent, with Milan Baros the only other foreigner among the top four.
Osimhen’s achievement not only underscores his clinical finishing but also places him firmly in Galatasaray’s modern history as one of their most impactful forwards.
