Troost-Ekong Celebrates ‘Second Career Title’ After Al Ahli Triumph

Former Nigeria international William Troost-Ekong has celebrated another milestone in his career, winning his second professional title just days after joining Al Ahli SC.

The 32-year-old defender helped his new club secure the UAE-Qatar Super Cup Challenge after edging Al Jazira in a dramatic penalty shootout at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.

Troost-Ekong, who only completed his move from Saudi Arabia’s Al Kholood last week, shared his excitement on social media, posting a picture of himself with the trophy onboard a plane.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Most Valuable Player had previously lifted his first major trophy in 2024, when he won the Greek Super League title with PAOK Saloniki.

His latest triumph with Al Ahli SC adds another feather to his cap as a professional footballer, underlining his resilience and consistency at the highest level.
