Igoh Ogbu Suffers Hamstring Injury Again Two Months After Return
Super Eagles defender Igoh Ogbu has picked up another hamstring injury two months after his return from the same setback, which had sidelined him for close to two months.
The Nigeria international sustained the injury during the second half of Slavia Prague’s 4–1 defeat to Pafos in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Ogbu represented Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco a few weeks after his return in late November 2025, with his fitness been a major concern.
However, he demonstrated impressive display in the two matches he featured in at the tournament against Uganda in the final group game and Egypt in the third-place playoff.
Sadly, the centre-back suffered a recurrence of the hamstring injury during the match against Pafos and was forced off just after 61 minutes.
At the time of his substitution, his team Slavia Prague were trailing 2-1, as they searched for their first Champions League victory of the season.
However, late goals from Anderson Silva and Mislav Oršić compounded their woes, condemning the reigning Czech champions to a heavy 4-1 defeat.
Ogbu has managed to make only nine appearances across all competitions so far this season due to injuries.
