Lookman to Sign 4.5‑Year Deal Worth €7m Annually at Fenerbahçe

Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman is set to sign a 4.5‑year contract with Fenerbahçe, earning a net salary of €7 million per year, after the Turkish giants reached agreement with Atalanta on a record transfer.

The deal, valued at €40 million including bonuses, will make Lookman the most expensive signing in Fenerbahçe’s history, eclipsing Mattéo Guendouzi’s €28 million move earlier this season.

Final work on bank guarantees is understood to be ongoing, but the transfer is expected to be completed before the close of the January window.

Lookman, crowned African Player of the Year in 2024, has revived his career at Atalanta following inconsistent spells in the Premier League.

Despite scoring only two goals in 12 Serie A appearances this season, his performances at continental level and his impact in Italy have drawn interest from Atlético Madrid, Inter Milan, and Bayern Munich.

Fenerbahçe sporting director Devin Özek has travelled to Italy to conclude negotiations, with the Istanbul club determined to secure the Nigerian international as a marquee signing. The move represents a major statement of intent as Fenerbahçe aim to strengthen their squad for both domestic and European ambitions.
