Tulip International School Visits NFF for Football Development Insights
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday hosted students and teachers from Tulip International School, Abuja, at its headquarters, where General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi led an engaging session on football development and the federation’s broader role in national and international sports.
The interactive programme focused on the NFF’s initiatives to strengthen football in Nigeria, including fostering political and regional ties through the sport, advancing women’s football, and prioritizing talent identification from schools and communities.
Speaking after the session, Dr Sanusi emphasized the importance of football as a unifying force.
‘The purpose is to emphasise the role of sports in promoting national unity, cohesion, and development. Additionally, it is important to assess what the Nigeria Football Federation is doing to establish a global presence, particularly in the Africa Cup of Nations.
‘Participants discussed the last Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco and our perspectives on it. We also discussed the necessary steps to advance women’s football, including early talent identification from schools and communities,’ he said.
Mubashir Shahzad, Public Relations Officer of Tulip International School, praised the NFF’s commitment to youth development and transparency.
‘I have observed that the NFF is diligently working to develop and engage the youth in football while ensuring transparency and elevating standards. In this regard, they are fully committed, and we believe their efforts will positively influence regional sports leadership. We wish them continued success,’ he remarked.
The visit also featured contributions from senior NFF officials, including Director of Competitions Ms Ruth David and Director of Finance and Administration Mr Rajan Zaka, alongside other staff members. The students were given firsthand insights into the federation’s operations and its vision for the future of Nigerian football.
