Umukoro Storms To 7.16 at New Mexico Classic, Delivers 3rd-Fastest Career Time

Success Umukoro produced another strong performance at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Saturday, clocking 7.16 seconds to finish second in the women’s 60m.

The 25-year-old’s time moves her up to number two on Nigeria’s 2026 top list, just behind Kelly Ufodiama, who holds the season’s best mark of 7.14.

It was Umukoro’s third-fastest career run over the distance, adding to her 7.15 from 2024 and her lifetime best of 7.13 set in 2025.

Brianna Selby won the race in Albuquerque with 7.15.

In the men’s 60m, LSU sprinter Joshua Caleb placed fourth with a time of 6.66 seconds.
