‘We Need You at Rivers United’: Idah Appeals to Nwabali

Former Nigerian goalkeeper Peterside Idah has publicly appealed to Super Eagles number one Stanley Nwabali to join Rivers United, urging him to help the club while awaiting a move to a bigger team.
Nwabali recently confirmed his departure from Chippa United after four years, leaving him without a club.
Speaking to Sports Nights Amplified, the 29-year-old revealed: ‘There have been no calls yet. The only calls I’ve received are from my family and friends, as well as people who are shocked by the news.’
On his verified Facebook page, Idah made a direct plea: ‘Nwabali, come to Rivers United and help our team until you have another team. We need help.’
Rivers United, joint-top of the Nigeria Professional Football League with four outstanding matches, have struggled in continental competition.
Their CAF Champions League campaign has been dismal, with four losses in five group matches, leaving them bottom of Group A and out of contention for the knockout stage.
