Arokodare Vows Wolves Will Fight to the End Despite Relegation Struggles

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has pledged that Wolverhampton Wanderers will continue to fight for survival in the Premier League despite their precarious position at the bottom of the table.

Arokodare made his 12th substitute appearance of the season in Wolves’ 2–2 draw with Arsenal at Molineux on Wednesday night.

While the result dented Arsenal’s title hopes, it did little to ease Wolves’ relegation battle, with the club rooted to the foot of the table on just 10 points from 27 matches. Wolves have lost 19 games this season and face an uphill task with 11 fixtures remaining.

The Nigerian forward, who joined Wolves from KRC Genk last summer, has scored two goals in 23 league appearances but admitted the team’s situation is ‘sad’ and ‘depressing.’

He insisted, however, that the squad remains united in their determination to fight until the very end.

‘We have to be very honest with ourselves but at the same time, we have to be professional and fight. Honestly it is sad, it is very depressing but one thing we say to ourselves is if we are going to go down, we are not going to go down like this, we are going to go down fighting,’ Arokodare said.

He added that Wolves are determined not to tarnish their reputation, stressing that every game will be approached with maximum effort.

‘We are not going to leave bad names for ourselves. Every game we go into, we are going to go fighting, fight for every point and whatever happens, happens,’ he declared.

Wolves will next travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in their Matchday 27 clash this weekend, as they continue their battle to avoid relegation.
