Osimhen: ‘We Can Hurt Liverpool at Anfield’

Victor Osimhen once again proved decisive for Galatasaray, setting up Mario Lemina’s winning goal in their 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Rams Park in the Champions League round of 16.

His flicked header from Gabriel Sara’s corner provided the breakthrough, and the Nigerian forward now boasts ten goal involvements this season, seven goals and three assists in just nine appearances.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen expressed both pride and belief in his team’s chances at Anfield.

‘I have been very happy since I arrived in this jersey. This jersey is very special. I wanted to do my best for these fans. I lost my mother at a very young age. That’s why it’s very important to me.

‘We are a family together with the Galatasaray fans. We did a very good job today. I think we can hurt Liverpool in the second leg. We have done a good job so far,’ Osimhen said post match.

Osimhen’s record against Liverpool is impressive, he has now won three of the four Champions League games he has played against the Reds, with one goal and one assist to his name.

His confidence and form make him the central figure in Galatasaray’s push to reach the quarter-finals.
