NPFL PREVIEW: Ikorodu City Aim to Halt Rivers United’s Charge in Lagos Showdown, Enyimba Fight for Survival, Shooting Stars Eye Top-Four Spot

All eyes will be on Lagos this weekend as Ikorodu City host table-toppers Rivers United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

The Oga Boys are desperate to end a four-match winless run, with their last victory coming in a slim 1-0 triumph over Enyimba in Aba.

Rivers United, meanwhile, are chasing their 15th win of the season and will be keen to maintain their reputation as the side with the fewest defeats in the league so far, holding a game in hand to strengthen their title credentials.

A win could propel the Oluyole Warriors into the top four as the race for continental tickets intensifies. Wikki, however, remain a tricky opponent, hovering just two points above the drop zone.

Abia Warriors travel to Kano to face newcomers Barau FC, hoping to end a run of four away games without victory. Their last success on the road came in January against Kano Pillars.

Barau, impressive despite their derby defeat last weekend, could break into the top half of the table for the first time this season if they secure maximum points.

In Maiduguri, El-Kanemi Warriors host Katsina United in a North-east derby. El-Kanemi could rise to sixth with a win, while Katsina are still reeling from a disappointing home defeat to Kwara United.

Bayelsa United, battling to stay clear of relegation, will face Warri Wolves in Yenagoa. A win would push them four points above the drop zone, while Wolves will be eager to build on their victory over Enyimba.

Remo Stars, bottom of the table, face a daunting task against title contenders Nasarawa United in Ikenne. The defending champions have endured a season of obscurity, but a win against the Solid Miners could spark hopes of survival. Nasarawa, sitting third, need the points to keep pressure on Rivers United and Enugu Rangers.

Finally, Kwara United will look to build on their first away win of the season when they host Enugu Rangers in their new home in Lagos.
