Deutsch Vows: Enyimba Will Survive NPFL Drop

Enyimba head coach Emmanuel Deutsch has insisted that the club will not be relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League despite their ongoing struggles.
The People’s Elephant slipped to 16th place after a 2-0 defeat to Kano Pillars on Sunday, leaving them level on points with teams in the drop zone but ahead only on goal difference.
It was Enyimba’s 13th loss of the season, a disappointing campaign for the nine-time NPFL champions and two-time African champions.
Deutsch, however, remains defiant.
‘It was a tough match. We played against a dangerous team, because both of us are in the danger zone. They had the advantage and they won the match. There’s nothing to argue about,’ he said after the game.
The coach stressed that his focus is on ensuring Enyimba’s survival.
‘The plan is for Enyimba to maintain their place in the NPFL. I’m very optimistic about it,’ he added.
Enyimba now turn their attention to a crucial Abia Derby against neighbours Abia Warriors in Aba on Sunday, a fixture that could prove decisive in their battle to avoid relegation.
