Maduka Okoye Ruled Out of Jordan Friendly

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be without goalkeeper Maduka Okoye when they face Jordan in Tuesday’s international friendly.

The Udinese shot-stopper suffered a thigh knock during training and has been ruled out of the encounter.

Okoye had only just returned to the national team setup last Friday, featuring in goal during Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Iran in Turkey.

That match marked his first appearance for the Super Eagles since June 2025, when he played in the 1-1 draw against Russia.

His absence is a setback for the 26-year-old, who was looking to re-establish himself as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper.

The friendly against Jordan will now provide an opportunity for other goalkeepers in the squad to impress head coach Eric Chelle as preparations continue ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
