NFF Disciplinary Committee Upholds Sanctions Against Kebbi United FC

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee has dismissed the protest lodged by Kebbi United FC against the Nigeria National League (NNL) over the alleged use of an ineligible player in their fixture against Yobe Desert Stars FC.

In its sitting on March 30, 2026, the Committee confirmed that Kebbi United’s player, Dawud Ibrahim, did not possess a valid license at the time of the match. Evidence presented by the NNL’s Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, and the Registration Desk Officer showed that the player’s registration was still pending and no authorization was granted to field him.

The Committee also highlighted irregularities in the match report, including the omission of license numbers for all Kebbi United players and inconsistencies in jersey numbers. These discrepancies were interpreted as deliberate attempts to circumvent league rules.

Following its findings, the Committee upheld the earlier ruling of the NNL Disciplinary Committee. Kebbi United FC was fined ₦1,000,000 for breaching Article 11.11 of the NNL Rules and Regulations.

In addition, the club forfeited three points and three goals to Yobe Desert Stars FC for fielding an unlicensed player, in violation of Article 11.13.

The Committee stressed that the decision does not prejudice Kebbi United’s right of appeal.
