Kerimoğlu: Galatasaray Must Find Their Heart Beyond Osimhen

The indispensability of Victor Osimhen was at the center of Tugay Kerimoğlu’s analysis following Galatasaray’s draw with Göztepe.

The former midfielder and Now Spor commentator stressed that the club cannot afford to build its future around a single player.

‘One player should not make us forget the others. When Osimhen leaves, do you have a chance to find another Osimhen? You must be ready to play without him,’ Kerimoğlu said, underlining the need for balance and adaptability.

Kerimoğlu was critical of coach Okan Buruk’s tactical decisions.

‘The game in Galatasaray is right in the first half, wrong in the second half. The game in the second half, the two points lost, the changes made are written to Okan Hoca,’ he remarked.

He pointed to substitutions as decisive, adding: “Sallai is not in the game, you take him at halftime, it is a move after all. You throw Barış Alper Yılmaz to the left and Icardi to the front, at least you will have a chance to respond to the opponent. Barış got lost in the game, you had to make this move to win. The Boey and Singo move is wrong.”

Concerns about Mauro Icardi also surfaced. ‘Today, there is clearly a problem with Icardi. To win him back, could there be a better environment than this? At home, you can start with Icardi,’ Kerimoğlu noted, suggesting the striker’s form is crucial to Galatasaray’s run‑in.
