Trabzonspor Struggle Without Onuachu, Drop Seven Points

Trabzonspor’s reliance on Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu has once again been highlighted after the team dropped valuable points in his absence.
The Black Sea side, currently third in the Turkish Süper Lig with 64 points, has faltered in matches where their leading scorer was unavailable.
Onuachu, who has been a revelation since joining Trabzonspor, has scored 22 goals in 25 matches this season, adding to the 15 goals he netted in his debut campaign. His impact has been decisive, with the club collecting 43 points from 18 matches in which he found the net.
However, without him, Trabzonspor managed just one win in four outings, drawing twice and losing once.
The burgundy-blues were held 3-3 by Beşiktaş in Week 16, lost 4-3 away to Gençlerbirliği in Week 17, narrowly beat Kocaelispor 2-1 in Week 18, and most recently drew 1-1 with Alanyaspor. In total, the team dropped seven points across those fixtures.
The statistics underline Onuachu’s importance: Trabzonspor have earned 67 percent of their points in matches where he has scored. His absence due to suspension, international duty, or injury has consistently coincided with setbacks in the club’s pursuit of the championship.
With the season entering its decisive phase, Trabzonspor’s hopes of maintaining their position at the top end of the table appear closely tied to the fitness and form of their Nigerian talisman.
